The rapid adoption of the MMPI-3 in neuropsychological batteries, both in clinical and civil forensic settings, has led to a growing literature on the MMPI-3 directly relevant to neuropsychological practice. Although much of the empirical findings using the MMPI-2-RF in clinical and forensic settings applies to the MMPI-3, the addition of new items and use of new norms requires unique interpretive considerations. This workshop will focus on the emerging literature surrounding the MMPI-3 in neuropsychological settings, highlighting the impact of new norms on interpretation of the MMPI-3. Additionally, issues related to the validity of inferences and implications for interpretaitons based on the MMPI-3 in older adults will be discussed.

Describe how interpretation of the MMPI-3 differs from the MMPI-2-RF on some scales due to the new normative group.
Describe whether rates of invalidity on the MMPI-3 are higher in adults over 65 and how this may or may not impact use of the MMPI-3 in neuropsychology settings.
Utilize recent empirical findings related to the MMPI-3 in refining interpretation of MMPI-3 profiles in neuropsychological settings.
