This address will describe three unintuitive insights about brain architecture and the corresponding computational affordances from the science of emotion: (1) your brain's most important job is efficiently coordinating and regulating the systems of your body; (2) predictively; and (3) construct signal ensembles that guide your action and create your experience. Implications for brain health will be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
After the session, participants will be able to:
Describe that efficient energy regulation is a crucial aspect of basic brain function.
Discuss that the brain works by integrated predicative control.
Explain that perceptions of the works do not cause action; experiences arise as a consequence of motor plans.
