Dr. William Perry is a Professor and Vice Chair of Psychiatry at University of California, San Diego. Clinically, he engages in consultations as well as neuropsychological assessment and has over 20 years of experience assessing physicians. He is Fellow of the National Academy of Neuropsychology (NAN) and is a Past-President of NAN and now serves its Executive Director. Pertinent to this presentation, Dr. Perry supports the UCSD Health system as the Chair of The Medical Staff Professionalism Committee, the Vice Chair of the Medical Staff Credentials Committee, the Psychiatry representative to the UCSD-Health Patient Care and Peer Review Committee, the Quality Council, and has been a faculty member of the UCSD Physician Assessment and Clinical Education (PACE) program since 1996. The PACE program is the largest program in the United States dedicated to collaboration with physicians, state medical boards, and hospitals to promote public protection, patient safety, and the high-quality clinical care. Dr. Perry has authored papers on physician assessment and has presented nationally on the subject.
