Dr. Chiaravalloti is Director of the Centers for Neuropsychology and Neuroscience and TBI Research at Kessler Foundation, Research Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers University-NJ Medical School, and a licensed psychologist in NJ and NY. She is Project Director of the Northern NJ Traumatic Brain Injury Model System, one of 16 federally-designated model systems of research and care for persons with traumatic brain injury in the US. She has successfully obtained over 23 million dollars in grant funding, including grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense (DoD), the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the New Jersey Commission on Traumatic Brain Injury Research, the New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Injury Research, the Carl Nielson Foundation, and the National Stroke Association. She has over 200 peer-reviewed publications and has made hundreds of national and international presentations. She additionally dedicates much of her time to mentoring post-doctoral fellows having had more than 24 postdoctoral fellows throughout her career. She has been the recipient of several early career awards from national organizations and she is looked upon as an expert in cognitive rehabilitation, processing speed, and cognition.
